It’s often the first thing a site owner thinks if the site doesn’t appear to work (assuming, of course, that targets have been set).

But in reality embarking on a re-design for the wrong reasons will probably just make things worse, not better. It is often a matter of checking existing analytics and identifying areas and points of friction that is reducing the sites effectiveness.

Small and incremental changes can, over time, improve conversions without visitors even noticing changes have been made.
