  1. How is “Mobile Optimization Boosts Sales” figured? Is that the percentage of mobile visitors that purchased ON the mobile device? Or just the amount of sites in that industry that has a mobile site that has sales from a user that ALSO visited on mobile device (not sure if you could even target a user that way).

    • Mondo:

      Thanks for the comment!

Our research found that mobile-optimized websites tend to generate more interaction partially because the user gets a good first impression.

The interesting thing is that, among mobile users, not only do mobile-optimized websites generate more interaction within the mobile device, they also tend to generate more interaction outside of the mobile device. Including financial interaction.

So, to answer your question, our interpretation would be that mobile users who visit mobile-optimized auto websites are more likely to begin a financial relationship with that site. This doesn’t necessarily mean they will make the final purchase through their mobile device — most don’t. It just means that the mobile user’s first impression was good, and is therefore more likely to do business.

    • Deep thought! Thanks for cnotirbuting.

  2. Mobile webpages are so important. I can testify to the 85% more engaged stat. When I visit a site on my phone that is optimized for mobile I am so giddy that I don’t have to adjust anything I am highly inclined to visit again!

    • I know exactly what you mean – when you get those sites you feel that they have been created with care and thought rather than just chucked onto a mobile environment.

I get a warm fuzzy feeling when it appears and I am more inclined to buy from them or, at the very least, read it!

  5. Let me just say this first, if you forgot to mention the Role played by social networking in Growth in mobile optimization.

Social media has been widely adopted by mobile phone users and its time when those users are getting really serious about looking at websites which have social media elements.

  6. Really enjoyed the infographic :)

@Jen–> Its really annoying having to zoom in soooo many times to read a menu from a restaurant’s site.

Having a mobile website is terrific for your blog as it makes it easier for your readers. Also, if you have a business that is online or a physical business setup at a store, a mobile website is the best thing you can have because people are ALWAYS searching for nearby stores from their phones when they shop. If they come across a mobile website that has been well designed and represents your business clearly (eg no need to zoom in), they will visit your store and hopefully increase your sales!

  7. Hi , really great stats above , very interesting. I also noticed that in the last 6 months more and more people are surfing my site via mobile phones. I know the local market is wide open to mobile friendly website , because restaurant , plumbers , car dealers, wine shops, owner they don’t have a clue on how to optimized a site for mobile. To be able to create QR code is now essential too , because the applications are limitless and very interesting for business owner. I personally prefer to own the software to create mobile site compare to create them online , same thing for QR code. That’s the present and the future of online market on my opinion.

  8. Hey Frank
You are absolutely right. I got annoyed by having monthly fees with most of these websites though. In the end I got one from One shot deal. QR code, everything. Basic sight but does what it has to

  9. I have been browsing on-line greater than 3 hours lately, yet I by no means discovered any interesting article like yours. It is lovely price sufficient for me. Personally, if all webmasters and bloggers made excellent content as you did, the internet can be much more helpful than ever before.

That is why it is important to invest in the right developer or group of developers for a mobile website.

  11. Fantastic article. Mobile enabled sites are definitely a “must have” for business today.

  12. Marianne Donnelly Dec 01, 2012 at 1:25 pm

I loved it too. surprising facts in some areas too.

  13. Can anyone give me their views on whether a separate mobile website is that a responsive web site. I am not a web designer but I am thinking of getting my website updated to a responsive website.

  14. I will be searching for advice on the best way to improve the volume of comments on my own blog site, just how have you reach your goals in carrying this out?

  15. Responsive design is just as important as website loading speed. Speed is critical. Everyone likes things fast. Why the wait? Speed optimizing any website will give it an extra edge over its competition and a boost in rankings. I always implement speed optimization to all my clients regardless if they pay for it or not. I thing speed optimizing a website is essential and also part of mobile optimizing.

    Best Regards

  16. Google loves mobile friendly website and give some importance.Nice sharing keep it up
